A montage documentary on the life of Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu.
More than a thousand hours of archival material (for twenty-five years Ceaușescu had himself filmed for an average of one hour a day by loyal official cameramen) were condensed into 180 minutes to tell the story of Ceaușescu without external manipulation, only through images: meetings with heads of state, greetings and crowd baths, parades and party meetings until he was tried and executed, along with his wife Elena, on December 25, 1989.
The screening is part of the program Stories in history, which accompanies the exhibition Il Nostro Tempo, CinéFondationCartier.
